Learn to Fly Fish Session 2:

June 1 1-3 PM

Learn what fly fishing is all about from Angling Skills Instructor/ Trainer John Carrier! Learn the anatomy of fly fishing and get real-time, real-life instruction and coaching that will make your experience of fly fishing a pleasure instead of a pain. If you have a fly rod, bring it! But if you don’t have a rod, we will provide a limited assortment. Find out what the Statue of Liberty and a bead-headed peacock have in common! Located in the meadow in Lower picnic area and canoe launch/landing. You will learn how to roll cast, mend, and double haul. You’ll then observe from the bank of the Kickapoo as your teacher demonstrate these various techniques. John will also give some tips on how to wade safely and easily in the stream. This workshop is one of two pre-requisites for the coached, in-stream experience. Let It Fly will begin promptly at 1:00 and end at 3:00. Ages: 16 and up. Younger than 16 must be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian.
